Deputy Court Administrator (Sullivan & Wyoming Counties)

This is an administrative support position responsible for assisting the President Judge and District Court Administrator with work activities and administrative functions of the Court of Common Pleas of Sullivan and Wyoming Counties.
Responsibilities include managing the court calendars, tracking cases from initial filing to final disposition, and jury management.
Work is performed under the direction of the District Court Administrator.
nnTypical Duties:
nnPrepares and distributes a daily/yearly court calendar; makes changes to court calendar.
nCompiles new case filings; schedules status conferences for purposes of placing cases on track for disposition.
nPerforms case management of continuance requests and scheduling issues; performs general troubleshooting.
nAssists attorneys, litigants, court and county staff and the general public by providing information on court practices, appearances/court schedules, and ADA assistance.
nPrepares and distributes a criminal status list, arraignment list and criminal trial list; tracks all criminal cases; lists cases for pre-trial conference for individuals unrepresented.
nAssists the District Court Administrator and the Jury Commission staff in the formation of the master list, the summoning of prospective jurors and the selection of jury panels.
nGains familiarity with and is able to defend the budgeting process; assists in preparing, submitting and presenting annual court budgets.
nAssists in the review of new court rules, state regulations, legislation, and case law to determine the impact on local court practices.
nActs in the absence of the District Court Administrator in managing the day-to-day operations of the court.
nnMinimum
Qualifications:
nnHigh School diploma or equivalent; ANDnThree years of clerical or secretarial experience in a legal, judicial, or governmental setting.
nAn equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experience may be considered.
nnnAdditional Requirements / Preferences:
nnSatisfactory criminal background check required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
